This small plate was made at the Kaneta Kaen Kiln, Shokeian, a pottery studio in Hagi. Although the kiln mark on the back is blurred and difficult to read, it can be identified as a work from this kiln. The soft white Hagi glaze blends gently, giving the piece the warm, rustic character typical of Hagi ware.
With its simple form, it can be used as a dessert plate or a small side dish plate.

• There is a small chip on the foot, but it does not affect use. Overall in good condition, carrying the quiet character and warmth of an aged piece.
