Small Plate – Ofuke Ware, Japanese Pottery

A Japanese pottery small plate from Ofuke ware.

Ofuke ware was once appreciated by feudal lords and continues today in Seto, Akazu.

Each piece is wheel-thrown, then covered with a softly bluish Ofuke glaze.

Subtle variations appear along the carved ridges of the rim, shifting slightly depending on the light.

The gentle blue tone and natural glaze variations define the character of the piece.
