A simple straw trivet with a soft, natural texture. Each piece is carefully woven by hand using rice straw grown in the fields of Kanagawa.
The gentle color of the straw and the slight irregularity of the woven form give it a quiet, rustic presence. With daily use, the color gradually deepens, and small marks such as light scorching or loose fibers become part of the object’s character.
Beautiful when new, and equally beautiful as it ages. It is a tool that slowly develops its character in everyday life.
